Prostate Health

Healthy Prostate Is Crucial in the Functioning of the Sexual System

The prostate plays a central role in the functioning of the male sexual system. A healthy prostate is crucial for maintaining erections, the quality of orgasms and the ability to feel and control the arousal curve.

Many men are unaware that the classic physical orgasm -triggered by penile stimulation- occurs primarily in the prostate, not in the penis itself. It’s no surprise, then, that both direct and indirect stimulation of the prostate can provide delightful states of ecstatic pleasure.

Many Problems Can Be Prevented With Care and Attention

Despite its importance, most men neglect the prostate until problems arise. However, many of these issues can be prevented with a little care and attention.

One of the most common issues is prostate inflammation, which can stem from bacterial infection, excessive ejaculation, exposure to cold, or external friction. Cyclists are particularly susceptible due to the constant strain on the area.

Symptoms of an Inflamed Prostate

Symptoms of an inflamed prostate include pain during ejaculation, a cold or numb sensation in the penis, reduced erection quality, and pain in the glans. If the inflammation isn’t caused by bacteria, it can be successfully treated by refraining from orgasming for 3-4 days and applying warmth to the prostate for 3-5 hours each day, using a heat pillow or warm herbal compresses.

To prevent prostate problems, I recommend integrating a few exercises into your life. One is the famous ‘Kegel’ exercise, which strengthens the pelvic floor and improves blood flow to and around the prostate.

Golden Stroke Perineal Massage

Another powerful but less known technique is a perineal massage called the ‘golden stroke’, which I learnt during my ‘Karsai Nei Tsang’ training. To perform this, place two fingers on the lowest point of the perineum, just above the anus, and slide them up with firm, even pressure until you reach the root of the penis, between the testicles. Once you have reached the root, use the other hand and repeat the motion.

Practising this massage for 2-3 minutes a day – about 300 strokes – improves blood circulation and increases energy flow to the prostate, which helps to prevent and counteract inflammation, and can even help to release physically stored emotional trauma that is very often held in this part of the body.
