3 States of
Pelvic Floor Contraction
A Portal to Richer Sexlife
Actively working with your pelvic floor during sex changes everything. It’s not just a key exercise, it’s a way to increase sensitivity, deepen pleasure, and gain more mastery over orgasmic release. Both sexes can access 3 distinct contraction states, each with its own unique qualities and potential.
I. Inward Contraction
಄ Inward Contraction – The same action as stopping the flow of urine. This is the ‘active Kegel crunch’. It pulls blood into the sexual system, making clitoral, vaginal, penile and prostate stimulation more intense. Experienced men can actively induce an erection by performing specific patterns of repeated strong inward contractions.
II. Neutral State
಄ Neutral State – Neither pulling in nor pushing out. This is the natural resting state, and where most people unconsciously remain during sex. It offers the type of stimulation most are familiar with. For men, it’s often the easiest state to maintain control of the ‘arousal curve’. However, for some women, staying in ‘neutral’ does not always provide enough stimulation to reliably reach orgasm.

III. Outward Contraction
಄ Outward Contraction – This is the opposite movement to the first contraction, as if urinating. Sensations shift inwards and are often felt more in the body’s core than just in the genitals. Many men find it easier to delay ejaculation in this state, since the prostate does not contract involuntarily as quickly when approaching ejaculatory climax. Women and men can trigger ‘squirting orgasms’ by using outward contractions when highly aroused, especially during G-spot or prostate stimulation.
Playing With Contraction States
A good beginner’s routine: while being stimulated or penetrated, contract inwards for 30 seconds, then neutral for 30 seconds, then contract outwards for 30 seconds. Repeat several times. Notice how each state changes the intensity and sensations.
Personally, I love to contract inward for longer periods of time before contracting outward with force. With the right stimulation and level of arousal, this can create very powerful sensations and trigger different types of orgasm.
